POLICE are trying to track down a man after arrested two people on suspicion of stealing a vehicle.

Thames Valley Police have released CCTV of a man they would like to speak to after the car-related incident.

At around 11.15pm on Friday, November 8, officers stopped two vehicles - a silver Ford Mondeo and a silver Ford Focus - in Arthur Place.

Both vehicles stopped, however the driver of the Mondeo got out of the vehicle then ran away.

Sergeant Alexander Willis, based at Reading police station said: “I believe the man in these images may have vital information that could help us with this investigation.

“If you recognise him, or believe it could be you, please get in touch by calling 101 or making a report online quoting reference 43190349918.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Police said a 23-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.

A 24-year-old woman from Reading was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and being carried in a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Both have since been released under investigation.
