THREE ReadiBus 'Team Workers', who share 50 years of experience between them, have been presented with long-service awards.

Colleen Warren and Carol Ferguson were both recognised for achieving 20 years of service and Kay Harbor was recognised for achieving 10 years.

They were presented with their awards by the Mayor of Reading, Councillor Paul Woodward.

Peter Absolon, ReadiBus general manager, said: “These long-service awards demonstrate the commitment and dedication of our staff, who work day in day out to tirelessly deliver the ReadiBus service to those who need it.

"For Kay, Colleen and Carol this year to have completed 10 years and 20 years of service each illustrates the depth of experience we have in our team.”

Prof Sophie Bowlby, the Chair of the ReadiBus Board, added: “It’s wonderful each year to recognise staff who reach these significant landmarks.

"The level of dedication and hard work of everyone at ReadiBus is second to none.”

The ReadiBus service is a transport lifeline for people who cannot make their journeys by ordinary public transport.

It was the first service of its kind in the country when it was set up in Reading in 1981 and allows people with restricted mobility to independently get out and about.
