A DRIVER has been handed a fine and six penalty points after being stopped by police.
Officers flagged down the male driver of a Vauxhall Vectra in Thynne Street, Bolton, last night.
The vehicle has been seized after it was found that neither the driver nor his wife had insured the car.
The driver was issued with a £300 fine and a Traffic Offence Report (TOR).
Greater Manchester Police's traffic patrols tweeted at about 8pm yesterday: "XT14 just stopped this Vectra in Thynne Street Bolton. After a conversation with the driver and his wife, they couldn't quite work out who paid the direct debit for the insurance, turns out it was neither of them.
"No insurance held equals car seized and driver issued TOR, six points and £300 fine."
