A STOLEN car has been seized after a driver failed to stop for police.

Traffic patrols pursued a Ford Fiesta after the driver failed to stop in Little Lever.

The vehicle was then found abandoned in Back Alice Street.

On initial inspection, officers discovered that the car number plates were false and that the Ford was stolen from an address in Lancashire.

Police have seized the vehicle for forensic examination after discovering several sets of number plates in the boot of the car.

Greater Manchester Police's traffic division tweeted about the find: "This Ford Fiesta failed to stop for #XT14 in little lever before being abandoned on Alice Street. Found to be on false plates and was in fact a outstanding stolen from

@LancsPolice.

"Several sets of other number plates in the boot too. recovered for forensic exam. @GMPBoltonSouth."
