HUNDREDS of homes across Reading were left without power for several hours yesterday.
Scottish and Southern Electric (SSE) Network reported that at one stage 24 postcodes across Whitley and Whitley Wood had been hit by the power outage.
Initial reports suggest supply was lost around 4pm and was originally expected to be restored by 10pm.

Details were updated to say electricity was expected back on for all homes shortly after midnight as engineers continued to try to fix the issue.
A statement from SSE said: "Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can."
It added that anyone affected can contact the firm for more details on 105 or on Facebook or Twitter via @ssencommunity referencing FU4566.
The fault was fixed overnight and power restored to all homes this morning.
