A BUS crash caused travel chaos during rush hour in West Reading last night (Monday, November 11).

The number 26 Calcot Ikea service was involved in a collision with a car at around 5.30pm in Southcote Lane, at the Burghfield Road junction.

A spokesman from Reading Buses confirmed the incident, adding: "One of their vehicles, on the yellow 26 route, was involved in a collision with a car yesterday.

"There were no casualties reported on the bus or in the car.

"They are helping the police with their enquiries as well as conducting their own internal investigation."

The company tweeted a short while after the incident to say services on the route had been cancelled.

They posted on the site at 5.58pm, saying: 'Yellow 26 from IKEA to Reading @ 17.44 cancelled due to accident.

'We apologise for any inconvenience.'

The cause of the crash ins currently not known.
