WOKINGHAM Lions club will collect and donate food to those in need this Christmas.
The charity organisation hopes to support those in need, such as elderly residents and young families on tight budgets that live in Wokingham.
Their plan is to collect extra food and deliver food parcels for these families in time for Christmas.
The campaign begins on Saturday, December 7, from 9am until 5:30pm at Wokingham’s Waitrose branch, also taking place just outside Wokingham’s Tesco branch on Saturday December 14, during the same hours.

John Cleary, organiser of the club's Christmas collection, said: “Please support our Christmas Collection by purchasing an extra item of shopping and donating it to the Wokingham Lions Club.
"We are looking for canned soups/vegetables, canned fish/meat, biscuits, non-perishable food, mini Christmas puddings and treats.
"We appreciate the generosity of Wokingham residents, as well as the volunteer efforts of our Lions Club members."
Lions Club members sort the food collected from the generous public and assemble them into parcels. They are then delivered to private homes and care homes in time for Christmas.
