Police have launched a manhunt to track an escaped prison who’s serving a ten year sentence after he attacked an elderly man before stealing jewellery.
Fourty-one-year-old Shane Douglas escaped from HMP Springhill on Saturday, between 9am and 9pm.
In October 2015, Douglas broke into a home in Fulham, before demanding cash and jewellery from a 63-year-old woman before being confronted a 71-year-old man.
Douglas tried to use a stun gun of him which failed. He then punched and kicked the victim before pushing him to the floor.
He then stole a gold Rolex watch from his wrist.
Douglas is described as black, about 6ft 5ins tall with a stocky build, clean shaven, with short, cropped hair or a shaved head. He is known to frequent the Hammersmith and Brixton areas of London.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Justin Harris, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “I am appealing for information which will help us find Shane Douglas.
“If you see him, please do not approach him, instead call us on 999.
“Anyone with any other details should call us on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 43190350864.”
