One commenter on TripAdvisor said: "We have been here numerous times and it never disappoints. We came on Friday as a group of 10 for our daughter's 13th birthday. The staff are amazing and allowed us to take our own cake which they brought out at the end, lit with candles and sang along to our daughter.

"The food is fresh and so yummy."

The comment added: "My daughters always have a pizza and we've never had a bad one yet. I would recommend the cheesy garlic bread and carbonara for main. My favourite.

"This place is so much better than a normal Italian chain and deserves to be packed out every day.

"Staff are super friendly. Good prices. Freezing cold beer. Great food. Make sure you go.

"My one only tiny comment is that the lemonade is always flat. I'd rather have it in an individual bottle or draught."

Indian takeaway Spice Master is a fairly new addition to Hildens Drive in Tilehurst and is proving a success. Inspectors visited the takeaway in March and rated all areas as 'Good' and gave an overall five-star-rating.

One TripAdvisor said of the eatery: "Having just received some good news we thought lets go out for a curry, something we haven't done for a while as we have been disappointed with the last few curries we have had. Glad to say we agree with other reviewers, the staff were friendly, and provided advice on the menu, which should offer something for everyone. Certainly the best Indian meal we had had in a while."
