READING has been named as having the most expensive train station parking in the UK outside of London, according to a new study.

The study, conducted by Veygo, looked at the daily parking rate at 100 of the busiest train stations outside of London which have their own car parks.

The results highlighted Reading as the most expensive with a daily charge of £25 for 12 hours of parking.

The station, managed by Apcoa Parking, has 1600 parking spaces and is open all day.

The town was closely followed by Glasgow Central which charges customers £24 a day to park.

The research also looked at London's most expensive train stations and found St Pancras/Kings Cross were the most expensive costing parkers £40 a day.
