THE following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

THOMAS PURCELL, 29, of Racecourse Road, Newbury, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis when driving a vehicle on August 9. Given a community order to comply with 80 hours unpaid work. Must pay £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 28 months.

BOBBY TURNER, 37, of Wincanton Road, Reading, admitted fraud by false representation having dishonestly deposited a £300 cheque on December 15, 2017, and another £300 cheque on January 3, 2018, in Reading. Sentenced to eight weeks in prison suspended for two years. Ordered to pay £600 compensation and £149 victim surcharge, plus £300 court costs.

MICHAEL HAGUE, 43, of Kentwood Hill, Reading, admitted using a vehicle without the correct insurance in Park Lane, Tilehurst in Reading, on March 2. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.

JASON LAMBOURN, 32, of Drury Lane in Mortimer Common, Reading, convicted of being in possession of cocaine in Thatcham on August 3, 2018. Fined £180 and ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge, plus £775 court costs.

ASHLEY AWBERY, 31, of Holkham Close in Tilehurst, Reading, admitted drink driving on the Portman Road, Reading, on August 8. Found to have 77mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £440 and ordered to pay £44 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 36 months, GARETH GRANT, 30, of Alexander Road, Thatcham, admitted criminal damage to a car in Newbury on August 9, and admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress on the same occasion. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge plus £85 court costs.

SEAN KELLY, 30, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing four bottles of whiskey worth £56 from Waitrose in Reading on August 9. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £14 compensation.

RICKY WELLS, 42, of Redfield Court in Newbury, admitted drink driving in London Road, Newbury, on August 11. Found to have 88mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £400 and ordered to pay £40 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 22 months.

DANIEL WOODBRIDGE, 49, of Reading Road in Pangbourne, Reading, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Friar Street, Reading, on August 11. Given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £21 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.
