AS THE days draw darker and bonfire night is nearly upon us, here is a round up of the various fireworks going on across Reading and Bracknell.
Saturday, November 2
READING: The annual spectacular to be staged by Reading Lions Club will be staged from 5pm. The group promise to light up the sky above Reading City FCs ground in Scours Lane, Reading. There will also be face painting, a fun fair, and hot food stands, and parking is free. Gates will open at 5pm and the fireworks display from 7pm. Tickets in advance are £7 for adults and £4 for children between five and 15 years old, they are more expensive on the gate.

READING: The Abbey Fireworks Party is making a return for 2019 with organisers promising a 'music spectacular'. The Reading Abbey Rugby Club and Abbey Ladies RFC will host the event at the club grounds in Rose Hill, Peppard Road. Gates open at 6pm and the bonfire will be lit at 7.15pm before the fireworks display at 8pm. Gates close at 7.30pm. There will also be a barbecue and bars on site. EARLEY: Once again, Laurel Park in Earley will be brought to life by the annual fireworks display from the Woodley and Early Lions Club. Hundreds of families are expected to join together to watch a high impact firework and music display. Gates will open at 6pm and the show will start at 7pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children under 14.

WOKINGHAM: A torchlight procession will start the fun in Wokingham from 6pm on Saturday from Market Place led by St Sebastian's band and local dignitaries. There will also be a fun fair in Cantley Fields for families to enjoy before the fireworks start at 7.30pm. There will be food and drink, and parking is limited. Tickets are £5 in advance or £7.50 on the day, more details at wokingham-fireworks.co.uk
SANDHURST: A free fireworks event will be staged at Sandhurst Memorial Park on Saturday thanks to the town council. The event will start at 5pm with entertainment on stage including local band Hudsons Choice will provide a countdown to the fireworks display which is planned to start at 7.30pm. there will also be fairground rides, community stalls, and food stalls, plus a licensed bar. Parking is limited and the main car park is for permit holders only. The Yes Acre Car Park will be £2 a vehicle.
ASCOT: A spectacle to light up the sky will be staged at Ascot Racecourse in what promises to be one of the regions largest fireworks displays and raceday. There will be fairground rides and attractions, plus food and winter cocktails with the races throughout the afternoon. Then the fireworks display in the evening with adult tickets for fireworks only at £7 and £5 for children. Details at ascot.co.uk

Sunday, November 3
READING: A fireworks fiesta is promised in Purley on Thames for a Sunday sky display. The Thameside Firework Fiesta promises to come 'back with a bang' as Purley Primary School stage the event once again with help from the local community. It will take place at Mapledurham Lock with a spectacular display over the River Thames supplied by Illusion Fireworks. Gates open at 5.30pm and fireworks will start at 7pm. Tickets are £6 for adults and £3 for children from the shop on Colyton Way, Barn Owls Day nursery, Purley Primary School office and online at thamesidefireworkfiesta.co.uk. No dogs allowed, and no parking on site.

Thursday, November 7
SONNING: Reading Blue Coat School in Sonning Lane will host to a 'pyromusical display' by the pyrotechnics experts at Sonning Fireworks Ltd. Gates will open at 6pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Friday, November 8
EARLEY: Hot food, bars, a raffle, and the fireworks display will light up Sol Joel Park in Earley on Friday. Earley St Preters CofE Primary School Association is staging the event for families and gates will open from 6pm. Saturday, November 9
READING: Fireworks, a licensed bar, food and drinks will all be hosted in Drury Lane for the Mortimer Fireworks 2019. Gates will open at 5pm, the bonfire lit at 6pm and fireworks planned for 6.45pm. Tickets in advance are £5 for adults and £3 for children and available from the School Office, Dad’s shop, The Baobab, Budgens, McColls, Parkers, Nisa and Wellers in Burghfield. BRACKNELL: There will be food, a funfair and fireworks staged at Easthampstead Park off Peacock Lane. Adult tickets are £10 in advance or £15 on the door, and kids under age 12 go free. Gates will open at 6pm and the fireworks start at 8pm. more details at eastpark.co.uk or call 01189 747576
