A MAN has been left with serious injuries after being hit by a car in King's Road, Reading.

The incident happened at around 9.15am today (Sunday, October 13).

The man, who is in his twenties, has been taken to the John Radcliff Hospital with serious injuries.

His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by Roads Policing Officers.

The driver of the vehicle, a VW Transporter, was not injured.

Investigating officer Sergeant Gary Doughty of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened this morning as we continue to establish the circumstances.

“We would especially like people to check their own CCTV and dash-cam footage from the area of Kings Road from around 9am this morning.

“If you find anything which could help, please share this with us.

“There may be some disruption in the area while we carry out the investigation, the road westbound towards Reading between Cemetery Junction and Eldon Road is currently closed and is likely to remain closed until later this afternoon. The road eastbound away from Reading is open.
