A THATCHAM-BASED charity for children with special needs and their families is now delivering play sessions for children under five years in Reading.

The new sessions, run by Swings & Smiles, aim to bring the joy of play to children with special needs in Reading and allow parents the chance to meet other families in a similar position.

The charities mission is to support children and young people, aged 0 to 25, with special needs and their families to be happy, have fun and feel included.

It has a play centre in Thatcham but also provides outreach sessions in the community.

Any children under five with special needs or a disability are welcome to attend the new play sessions, taking place at Coley Park Community Centre every Wednesday from 11-12pm.

The session costs £2.50 per family and siblings are also welcome.

While the group is for children with special needs, no formal diagnosis is required to attend.

The engaging sessions will be sensory based and the play team from Swings & Smiles will be bringing lots of toys and equipment along and finishing with an interactive story each week.

They will also be on hand to offer support and advice to parents, and to make them a cup of tea.

If you are interested in attending one of the sessions please book your space in advance by emailing kellie@swingsandsmiles.co.uk.
