A CYCLIST was left with injuries to his head and upper body after being knocked off his bike in a hit-and-run.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision, which happened on Whitley Wood Lane, Reading.

At around 7.30pm on Friday, September 27, a man in his late forties was cycling along Whitley Wood Lane from the direction of Lidl towards Engineers Court.

He was struck by a vehicle and knocked from his bike.

The man received injuries to his head and upper body and was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not serious.

The driver of the car, which is described as a dark coloured car with a loud exhaust, did not stop. 

Investigating officer Pc Justin Aylin-White of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit based at Three Mile Cross, said: “The victim in this incident was lucky not to receive more serious injuries.

“The driver of the vehicle did not stop, so we are looking to trace them.

“We would ask anyone who witnessed this collision or might have been driving and has dash-cam footage of the incident is asked to get in touch.”
