Now, the bakery has a new seating area complete with USB charging points and android and apple cables provided to customers.

There is also a brand new display counter and a wider range of food and drink on offer.

Customers can still enjoy their favourite items but now the bakery will be serving new drinks like frappes and milkshakes and more food including focaccia, ciabatta, home made soups, toasties, quiche and salads.

People popping in for breakfast can also enjoy more options and the children's menu has been revamped with pizza on offer for the little ones.

Mr Carr explained that the bakery was "buzzing" this morning with people waiting outside for them to open.

He said: “We are really excited to be welcoming them back to a lovely brand new shop.”

The first five lucky customers received a £10 voucher each and this Saturday the team will be giving away newly designed bags for life to anyone who spends over £10.

The family run bakery has been trading since 1932 and have six shops all together across Reading and Thatcham.

The team celebrated being awarded as the Best Bakery in South East England in the National Bakery Awards in April this year.

Mr Carr explained the team is "immensely proud" of this achievement.

He said: “Its really testament to all the hard work of teams involved and without them doing their absolute best I don’t think we would have won that.”

The bakery is open Monday-Friday from 7.30am until 5pm and Saturday from 7.30am until 4.30pm.
