THE University of Reading has warned students about the sale of "dodgy" fresher event tickets.
With students heading to campus for the start of the academic year, fresher events will be kicking off soon but the university revealed they have received numerous emails from students who have been "caught out" by "dodgy" tickets.
Their Facebook post said: "We've had a few emails from students who have been caught out by dodgy Freshers events using our name and the word 'official' to sell tickets.
"If you want uni events, the only official wristbands come from Reading University Students' Union - RUSU's website below.
"There are other events taking place but they are not associated with us, no matter what the name says.
"Any wristbands purchased through Fatsoma won't get you access to the RUSU events."
They explained students could buy official tickets here.
