A CARE home in Reading hosted a 'superhero' themed BBQ in celebration of all current residents and former residents who returned to visit, last month.

The BBQ, hosted by Bupa Beacher Hall Care Home on Bath Road, took place on August 22 and was well attended by staff and residents, friends, family and members of the local community.

The theme comes as part of the home’s nickname for rehabilitation residents who return to their own homes after recovery at Beacher Hall.

The home also ran the ‘Superhero’ theme throughout August where staff and residents watched every Marvel Avengers film in the lead up to the official DVD release of Avengers: Endgame, which screened at the home on the September 2.

General Manager, Carl Francis, said: “Everyone had a fantastic time at the BBQ!

"There was a great atmosphere and it was lovely to see some familiar faces.

"We have so many heroes at the home, residents and staff, so it seemed like the perfect theme for everyone.”

Bupa Beacher Hall provides rehabilitation care for young people with long term brain injuries or physical disabilities. Residents are offered a full programme of regular and seasonal activities, as well as 24-hour access to highly trained medical and care staff.
