A MAN in his twenties was stabbed during an altercation in Reading on Sunday, September 8.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which took place at around 11.20am in Basingstoke Road, near to the junction of Longbarn Lane.

Initially, an altercation between two men broke out, which resulted in the man being stabbed under his arm.

The victim attended hospital but has since been discharged.

A 28-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of assault, and has been bailed until October 6.

Investigating officer, detective constable Maggie Bruce, said: “We are investigating this assault in which the victim and the offender were known to each other and we have made one arrest.

“However this assault happened on a street where there would have been a lot of motorists driving by who may have witnessed the incident or may have dash-cam footage.

“We would ask anyone who was driving in the area to review their dash-cam footage and please get in touch if it shows the incident, or if they witnessed the assault we would also ask them to get in touch.”
