NEIGHBOURS have revealed their shock when they heard "screams" after a man was assaulted in a road traffic collision.
Police officers were called to Overdown Road in Tilehurst at around 11.50am after a small car crashed into a white van.
An eyewitness, who lives near to the scene, said she heard loud screams coming from outside her house.

The woman said: "I heard screams so I rushed out immediately and tried to help.
"I took the father's little boy in as he was shaken and trembling and I gave him some tea and biscuits inside.
"After that, I don't know what happened but it was terrible. I saw one woman giving first aid, she was brilliant."
Overdown Road has been cordoned off, and paramedics seem to have been at the scene as medical equipment can be seen.
Police have also confirmed that the small car drove into the direction of nearby Stone Street.
Police are currently diverting cars from the area, which is close to a roundabout.
Cars are being rerouted towards Kentwood Hill.
