MYSTERY still surrounds the death of a man at Reading Festival, four days on from the tragic incident.

The public have taken to social media to pay their respects to the man, who has not yet been named.

It is known that he was taken ill on Saturday night (August 24) from the nationally-popular festival, before he died at Royal Berkshire Hospital on Monday, August 26.

The death occurred amid news that a teenager had also died at Reading's sister event, Leeds Festival.

The 17-year-old died of a suspected drug overdose.

The festival took place this year during a weekend heatwave, with temperatures climbing to highs of 32 degrees.

Although no formal cause of death has been revealed, health warnings were issued prior to the event, instructing festival goers to stay safe during the hot weather.

Festival organisers advised visitors using the festival app to 'drink plenty of water' to stay safe in the heat.

Police, festival organisers and the Coroner's Office have been contacted for details about the incident, but so far no further information has been provided.
