West Berkshire Council received the plans from Pureday Ltd who suggested they would demolish the public house and build a 47 space car park, associated fencing and security control.

Currently, there are enough car parking spaces for 20 cars, so the proposals hope to see an increase of 27 spaces.

However, there have been objections to the plans.

Tilehurst Parish Council listed three main concerns associated with the proposals, particularly surrounding travellers and traffic.

They explained: "The proposal would cause considerable extra traffic exiting onto the bend at the bottom of Langley Hill which is a very busy road."

They also expressed their fears that travellers would return to the site if it were turned into a carpark.

Holybrook Parish Council will be responding to the proposals after their next meeting on September 9.

The plans can be found here.
