THAMES Valley Police held a one-minute silence across the force today at 11am in memory of PC Andrew Harper.

Emergency service teams across Oxfordshire have shared images of staff paying their respects to the officer.

A force chaplin also read a few words out in a small official ceremony at the force training centre in Sulhamstead.

PC Harper, 28, who was based at Abingdon, was killed while responding to reports of a burglary in Berkshire last Thursday night.

Ten people were arrested, but just one – Jed Foster of Burghfield, has been charged with murder and is now set to stand trial.
