ROYAL Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) held an explosive open day at Newbury on the weekend (Saturday, July 27).
Residents were given the chance to meet local firefighters and witness exciting demonstrations where appliances and equipment were used.

The family friendly event, which took place between 10am - 4pm ay Newbury Fire Station, saw a 'great turnout' and a generous donation was raised for two charities, West Berks Homeless and The Fire Fighters' Charity.
RBFRS Tweeted: 'We had a great turn out on Saturday for @NewburyFS's open day!
'Activities included meeting the @HantsFireDogs, demonstrations, a range of stalls, and attendance from our partners at @ThamesVP and @SCAS999.
'We raised over £1000 for @WBerksHomeless and @firefighters999 #Newbury.'
