AN online auction aimed at raising money for a young boy from Reading’s cancer treatment goes live tomorrow (July 31).

The auction has been set up by Claire Brown from the Cotswolds who is fundraising for twelve-year-old Charlie Ilsley from Emmer Green after seeing his plight on Channel 4’s Celebrity Bake Off.

Charlie was recently cleared of cancer, but his family need to raise £50,000 so he can undergo Immunotherapy to prevent the disease from returning.

Charlie is currently in Germany for the first step of the treatment and all money raised at the auction will go towards funding this.

There have been many generous donations including, but not limited to, signed Ed Sheeran merchandise, a personal visit from Father Christmas, 1966 World Cup presentation signed by Geoff Hurst, gym memberships, dog portrait experiences, family photo shoots and much more.

Mrs Brown expressed her gratitude for everybody’s support so far.

She said: “I’m very, very grateful for all the amazing donations from local businesses who have wanted to support the cause, many of whom know about Charlie already.

“Living out of the area, I get a sense of such community spirit there.

“I hope we raise lots towards the £50K Charlie desperately needs.

She is urging people to spread the word about the auction.

She added: “We have items that money can’t buy and need people to dig deep.”

Bids can start from as little as £1.
