NOW that the summer holidays are upon us and housebuilding sites are still active, David Wilson Homes is warning children and teens in Berkshire about the dangers of entering and playing on building sites.

New homes developments under construction may look like exciting places to explore and play, but the homebuilder is warning little ones and parents that they can be extremely hazardous.

Paul Crispin, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “Developers like ourselves are building more new homes sites all over the country, but until they are complete, building sites can be very dangerous.

“With summer school holidays here, children should be told to stay away.

“While we do watch out for youngsters on the sites during the day and secure them at night, we would like to ask parents to ensure the safety of their children during the holidays, especially if they live near an active building site.”

David Wilson Homes hosts site visits and holds regular safety talks for schools close to new homes sites to encourage safety and to highlight the hazards of playing on or near construction sites.

David Wilson Homes Southern is currently building homes at the following development in Berkshire: Newbury Racecourse and Cherry Blossom Meadows in Newbury, Montague Park in Wokingham, Croft Gardens in Reading and Willows Grange in Greenham.
