A CARING girl left a bottle of cold water out for her postman after what is recorded as one of the hottest days of the year.
Mollie Firth from Lower Earley was inspired to leave a refreshing beverage out for the postman as she felt sorry for them having to work during the heatwave.
The four-year-old said: "I wanted to put some water out for our postman because he will get so hot walking around delivering people's letters."
The little girl put out a cool bag and left a note on the door, which read 'To Mr. Postman, this is to cool you down', to which the postman wrote back 'Thank you'.
Her mum, Becky Firth explained how proud she was of her daughter for being so considerate.
The mum-of-three, said: "When she mentioned it I thought it was such a good idea due to the heatwave.
"It must be a hard job being out in this weather.
"Mollie is such a caring child, she makes me laugh every single day with her quirky personality - I am so proud of her."
