A FAMILY with a five-week-old baby were involved in a car accident in Reading, resulting in the car flipping over on a road in Rotherfield Way.

The incident happened in Rotherfield Way, Caversham, this morning (Tuesday, July 23).

One resident posted a photo of the incident on Twitter, saying: "Accident on Rotherfield Way.

"Only adding to gridlocked traffic in Caversham caused by roadworks at TGI Fridays roundabout."

It is not yet known if there are any injuries.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said nobdy had been badly hurt.

He said: "We received a 999 call at 10.21am with the caller reporting a collision between two vehicles resulting in one of them overturning onto its roof on Rotherfield Way.

"We sent two ambulances to the scene and the occupants of the vehicle that overturned - a family of three, a mum, dad and a five week old baby had fortunately only sustained minor injuries, as had the male driver of the second vehicle involved, and all were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for further treatment."
