MEMBERS of the Berkshire Gardens Trust visited Englefield House to celebrate its 10th anniversary last week.

The trust was formally launched at Englefield House in 2009 and held their inaugural meeting there.

Members returned to enjoy afternoon tea in the Long Gallery before exploring the magnificent gardens.

Chairman Charles Elly DL proposed a toast to the future success of the Trust and paid tribute to the four founding members, three of whom were present.

Looking to the future, he said that the Trust would continue its mission ‘to identify, understand, appreciate and promote the conservation of historically significant designed landscapes in Berkshire’.

The Lord Lieutenant, Mr James Puxley, and the High Sheriff of the Royal County of Berkshire, Mrs Lucy Zeal, together with the Mayors of Slough, Bracknell Forest, Wokingham and the Chairman of the West Berkshire District Council were among the official guests.
