A MAN from Tilehurst has been charged with burglary and fraud after German war medals were stolen from a pensioners property.

Carl Hunter, 36 of The Meadways in Tilehurst was charged with one count of burglary and one count of fraud by misrepresentation.

Police have charged the man in connection to an incident on July 10 where a property in Reading Road, Cholsey was broken into and items were taken, such as jewellery and war medals.

Credit cards were allegedly stolen from the property in Cholsey and used later in the day.

Hunter has been remanded in custody and will appear at Oxford Crown Court on 9 August.

A 49-year-old man and a 37-year-old man, both from Reading, were arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with this incident.

They have both been released on bail until August 9.
