A CHINESE restaurant in Reading has closed due to a cockroach infestation.
Beijing Noodle House, on West Street, closed last week (Thursday July 11) after health officers discovered a cockroach infestation.
A notice written by Reading Borough Council (RBC) sits in the window of the restaurant explaining why they are no longer in service.
It says: “I am satisfied the health risk condition is fulfilled…because: there is a serious cockroach infestation.
"Additionally, the premises is dirty and some of the structure is poor.”
Restaurant bosses will appear in Reading Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 18).
Magistrates could serve a hygiene emergency prohibition order which will keep the restaurant closed until improvements are made.
