A MAN has been jailed after police discovered stolen items from a property he burgled while he was driving in his car.

Christopher Coleman, 24 of Sycamore Road, London pleaded guilty to one count of burglary at Reading Crown Court on July 11.

Coleman burgled a property in Brooklyn Drive, Emmer Green on May 7 and was subsequently charged by police the following day on May 8.

Thames Valley Police officers located the offender and arrested him after they found stolen goods from the property in his car while he was driving.

At the hearing at Reading Crown Court last Thursday, Coleman was sentenced to two years and five months in prison.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Alan Pearcy, based at Reading police station said: “Thames Valley Police will robustly investigate all reports of burglary.

“I hope this sentence acts as a deterrent to those thinking of committing such an offence, your actions could result in a prison sentence.

“I would like to thank the victim and witnesses in this case for their support throughout the investigation which led to Coleman pleading guilty due to the over whelming evidence against him.”
