TWO men threatened to stab two teenagers in Oxford Road on Tuesday (July 2).

At around 10.55pm, the two 17-year-old boys were at the bus stop outside McDonald's when they were approached by two men, who threatened to stab them if they did not hand over their phones.

One of the victims gave them his phone and then a Reading bus arrived, which caused the offenders to run from the scene.

A weapon was not seen at any point during this exchange.

The phone that was taken was a black iPhone XR 32GB.

It was in a black case which had a clear back panel with a bus ticket inside.

The serial number of the phone ends in MKXK1 and the IMEI number ends 60923.

The first offender was a black man aged around 18.

He is described as being approximately 5ft 8ins and of average build.

He was wearing a black beanie hat, a reflective grey zipped coat with the hood up and navy baggy trousers.

The second offender was a black man aged between 17 and 19.

He is described as being approximately 5ft 9ins and of average build.

He was wearing a black bandana headband with short dreadlocks and a beanie hat, and was also wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and jogging bottoms.

Investigating officer PC Emma Pointon based at Reading station, said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have any information regarding this incident to please come forward and speak to police.

"If you recognise the description of these offenders or you think you may have either been offered the phone described or given it recently, please get in touch.

"You can contact police on the 24-hour non-emergency number 101 quoting reference ‘43190200695’ or make a report online.

"Alternatively you can make a report anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
