A road in Marlow High Street will be closed tomorrow afternoon due to a protest.

The junction at the A4155 to Station Road will be shut as Extinction Rebellion (XR), will be demonstrating against climate change and the environment.

Marlow, which is notorious for its parking problems, could see long delays for those entering the High Street as the protest is due to take place from 1pm to 4.30pm, which will affect the lunchtime rush and the school run.

In a statement on Twitter, Transport for Bucks said:

“We have been made aware that there will be a demonstration by Extinction Rebellion on Marlow High Street tomorrow afternoon, Friday 21st June.

“In the interest of public safety, and on the advice of @TVP_Wycombe a road closure will be in place on the High Street from the junction with A4155 to Station Road.

“We suggest avoiding driving through the area tomorrow if possible and will keep you posted with further updates as and when we have them. Please respect your road workers.”

Extinction Rebellion have revolted at Oxford Circus, the Marble Arch, Waterloo Bridge and in the House of Commons following their formation in October last year.
