A READING foodservice provider raised more than £1,000 for life-saving emergency service, Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Bidfood raised £1,363 for the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire’s medical service.

Last weekend, the depots’ annual family fun day was transformed in aid of the local charity partner to raise money through a host of activities, including a successful raffle and donations of products to the ambulance service to fuel the crew whilst they save lives.

The day was a great success, raising more than £727.

Combined with the other funds the depot raised this month, the total equated to a substantial donation of £1,363.

Catering to all ages, the day was filled with entertaining activities for both children and adults - there was a vibrant street food BBQ zone, face painting, a live band and even exclusive depot warehouse tours for family and friends.

Speaking about the fundraiser, general manager Eddie Edge, Bidfood Reading, said: "The day was a great success and it was fantastic to see so many people there enjoying themselves.

"We've chosen the Thames Valley Air Ambulance service for all the incredible work they do, consistently delivering critical medical care to save lives across Thames Valley.

"Following on from the success of this event, we are looking to host similar fundraising activities in the future to continue to raise money for this worthy charity and other great local causes."
