A SERIES of arson incidents have recently taken place in Lower Earley.

Each of them happened between Wednesday, May 29 and Sunday, June 9.

The first took place on Elm Road on May 29 at around 1am, when a bin was set alight.

Sometime between midnight and 2pm, an estate agent board was also set alight on Nutmeg Close on Saturday, June 8, with a third incident taking place on Sunday, June 9, which involved a bed mattress being set alight at around 2am on Cinnamon Close.

Lastly, an incident took place in an open space between Beaconsfield Way and Elms Lane on Sunday, June 9 at around 1am.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incidents.

Investigating officer, sergeant Howard Rose from the Wokingham West Neighbourhood team at Loddon Valley police station, said: "We take these incidents very seriously and have increased patrols in the area.

"I am appealing for any witnesses who were in these areas at the time and may have seen or heard anything unusual to come forward.
