AN adorable otter was spotted in the Holy Brook river.

Urban explorer Callum Cromwell spotted the animal peering out of the culvert close to the library.

Reading Libraries posted a Tweet, saying: 'Look what's been spotted in the Holybrook by the Library.

'The strengthening works are finished but it hasn't scared the otters away.

'Absolutely amazing - we often see kingfishers + herons but this is a 1st for us has anyone else seen them in Reading?'

One Twitter user responded: 'It is likely that these Otters have come from the Theale direction using the Holybrook, which starts there.'

Another said that he had seen otters along the Thames between Caversham and Mapledurham.
