A CRITICALLY acclaimed play about the effects of Alzheimer's disease will be shown at Woodley Library later this month.

Connie’s Colander is a piece of theatre aimed at anyone and everyone, but it may be of most interest to carers, medical professionals and friends and families of those with dementia.

Connie is a retired domestic science teacher.

Emily, her daughter, is enjoying hosting her first TV cookery show: Connie's Colander, bringing her mother's recipes onscreen and up to date.

With humour and tenderness, the newly written play, performed by Human Story Theatre, traces the evolving relationship throughout their lives, and the impact of Connie’s Alzheimer’s.

Can their relationship, and the TV show, survive?

The running time of the show is 50 minutes, plus a 20 minute post-show Q&A with a Dementia specialist.

The play will come to Woodley on June 24, at 2.30pm.
