YOUNG Reading Buses customers will soon be able to travel for a reduced price with Green Line.

From Monday, June 3, Green Line 702 and 703 customers will be able to use Boost - which is the name of their range of tickets for younger people.

As a result of its introduction, Boost will open up more reduced fares to 16-18 year olds, as well as the traditional 15 and under age range.

The introduction of Boost will also bring some changes to the existing child fares.

This will bring the Green Line fares into line with the rest of the Reading Buses network.

Reading Buses chief executive officer, Robert Williams, said: "The great news is that while some fares have gone up, many return tickets have reduced in price to reflect the value of the simply Network Boost day ticket.

"There are no changes to adult fares, except the single and return between Windsor and Legoland to align with Courtney Buses route 600."

He explained that when Reading Buses first took over Green Line 702 in December 2017 they retained the original prices of the previous operator to keep fares simple.

He added: "Now, after a successful year and a half of operation, we are delighted to be able to announce that Boost is coming to Green Line 702 and 703 and those who are 18 and under can take advantage of cheaper fares on bus or online without the need for special ID."

There are also discounts for college and university students of any age on production of a ‘Totum’ NUS card.

The company is also withdrawing their Thames Valley day tickets due to lack of use.

Reading Buses have also announced that the reciprocal agreement with First Berkshire will end.
