A SPONSOR for the Binfield 10k road race has revealed its pride after this year’s race has proven to be a big success.

Housing developer Bellway donated £1,000 towards the cost of putting on the event, which was held on Sunday, May 19.

A total of 637 runners tied up their running shoes for this years race, with thousands more lining the street to cheer on the competitors.

The race was won by Neil Kevern, who crossed the finish line in 32 minutes and five seconds.

Greg Allsop, Head of Sales for Bellway North London, said: “The Binfield 10k has created a really positive atmosphere in the village over the past few years and we were proud to be a sponsor of this wonderful community event.

“The volunteers who organise the race do a fantastic job in putting on the race and raising much-needed funds for charity.

“It was great to see such a big turnout for this year’s race and I’m sure the event will go from strength to strength as the community in Binfield continues to grow in the years ahead.”

A third of the money raised will be donated to Bracknell Forest charity Youthline, which offers free counselling to teenagers and young people aged 25 and under.
