A HEAD teacher turned crime author held a celebration event to mark the launch of her third novel.

Vera Morris was in charge at Chiltern Edge School in Sonning Common for 10 years before becoming an author.

Around 80 people visited Alto Lounge on May 14, including former pupils and teachers, ahead of the launch of 'The Loophole'.

She started her teaching career at Westwood Primary School in Tilehurst and a former pupil came all the way from the USA.

'The Loophole' is the third novel in The Anglian Detective Agency Series.

Her first book 'Some Particular Evil' took inspiration from aspects of her former career and her idea for a murder mystery-themed novel at a school became a reality in 2016.

The book is available to buy on Amazon for £8.99.
