AN ACADEMY is celebrating after achieving a 'Good' rating with the education watchdog.

Battle Primary School was rated highly across all areas of the inspection and leaders say they are going 'from strength to strength' following this result.

Ofsted inspectors said pupils took huge pride in their work and treated others with respect and tolerance.

The head teacher, senior team and governors also received high praise, helping Battle to achieve a 'Good' rating in all five areas of the visit.

Nathan Butler-Broad, head teacher, said: “We are truly delighted with the findings from the latest Ofsted inspection and the recognition of all the hard work that has gone into making this such a successful school.

"There is still more to do but we are confident that our improvement plans will see us go from strength to strength. We are confident that by building on our achievements we will be aiming to secure ‘Outstanding’ in our next inspection.

"I would like to thank the staff, children and their families for all their hard work in making this school a real success story.”

Highlights from the report included praise for the 'happy and harmonious' feeling of the school, as well as the strength of the head teacher, who was described as 'skilled, passionate and determined'.

Jo Coton, NET Academies Trust CEO, added: “I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the staff, governors, pupils, parents and carers at this wonderful school.

"We are immensely proud of what they have achieved as they have worked relentlessly to achieve the best outcomes for the children, staff and families. The findings from the Ofsted inspectors and the praise heaped on the school are totally well deserved.

"As Ofsted has stated, the school is well placed to secure further improvements and we will continue to support the team on their ambitious plans for the future.”
