A SUCCESSFUL flutter at the Grand National has allowed a politician to help young children.
Alok Sharma MP donated his £225 winnings to Westwood Farm Community Pre-School after betting on Tiger Roll.
The pre-school is fundraising to fix the garden for their children and will soon be holding a summer fete.
The Reading West MP said: “I have been very lucky to win two years running with the Grand National charity bet.
"Last year, I donated the winnings to Guide Dogs for the Blind. This year, I am absolutely delighted to support Westwood Farm Community Pre-School, who are working hard to raise funds to fix their garden.
"I wish the school and its supporters all the best in getting the garden fixed this year.”
The summer fete will take place on July 13 on the field at Cotswold Park from 11am to 2pm.
