A DEDICATED bus driver who went above and beyond during a snowy night has been commended for her efforts.

Davina Pullen, who works for Reading Buses, travelled an extra 15 miles after passengers had been left stranded in Newbury.

A service run by another company left residents out in the snow and so Davina, 50, decided to help out, even though she had finished her shift.

She gave the waiting passengers a lift home, even though it meant going well out of her way.

As a result of her selfless gesture, she was nominated for a Star of the Month award.

The customer who nominated her said: “On a night when it would be easy for customers to be annoyed at all bus drivers, Davina’s patience, kindness and generosity, as well as her positive energy, showed that some are more than good – they are amazing.”
