82-year-old left with hip injuries after being pushed over in Lower Earley
AN 82-YEAR-OLD woman sustained hip injuries after being pushed over in a carpark in Lower Earley.
David Beckford, 30, of Laburnum Gardens, Reading, has been charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm following the incident on April 16 at around 5.20pm at the carpark of the Asda superstore in Chalfont Way.
He was arrested on Sunday, May 5 and charged the following day.
The victim was treated in hospital and required surgery and a hip replacement.
Beckford appeared before Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody to appear before Reading Crown Court on Monday June 3.
