A WOMAN was dragged by her hair to the ground before being punched and kicked in the head by a man on April 16.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place in Reading at around 1.45am.

The 30-year-old victim suffered a significant facial injury which required hospital treatment and has since been discharged.

She had been walking along Western Elms Avenue at around 1.45am when she was approached by the man.

The offender is described as a white man in his 20s, with a ginger beard.

He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, a black puffa-style jacket and burgundy coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Investigating officer, detective constable Jamie Faithfull, based at Reading police station, said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim that left her with significant facial injuries.

"I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have any information about what happened to please come forward.

"Anyone with information can contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference ‘43190114466’ or make a report online.
