READING Buses held an early Easter bake sale to raise money for Cancer Research Kids and Teens.

The charity cake sale happened on April 15 in the foyer at the company's Great Knollys Street depot.

Organised by Dolores Saunders, the sale was a huge success as employees baked (or faked) their cakes with lots of delicious treats available on the day.

There was also a super Easter hamper as a prize for their Easter raffle, which was ultimately won by one of the driving staff.

There was also a variety of what is described as ‘fabulous’ vintage jewellery on sale, which was donated by Reading Buses marketing and brand manager Nikki Ball.

The day raised more than £200 for the charity, which was hailed as a fantastic success.

Chief executive officer Robert Williams said: "It was a great day and everyone enjoyed tucking into the cakes and sweet treats.

"There was even some freshly made samosas on sale too which sold out in minutes.

"It's a big thank you to Dolores for organising, but also to all the employees who contributed either by providing cakes and, of course, to those that had the enviable task of buying and eating them!"
