A MIDWIFE has scooped a top national award for going above and beyond in the care she provides to families going through pregnancy loss.
Juliette Ward's compassionate and sensitive approach has seen her recognised by The Mariposa Trust with the Archie Award, in memory of the son of actress Kym Marsh.
The Rainbow Midwife Specialist at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust was presented with the coveted award at a ceremony in London.
She said: “It is a huge honour to receive the Archie Award - especially this year which marks Archie's 10th birthday.
"When parents suffer the tragedy and heartbreak of baby loss it is important that they receive the best possible care and support, not only during this very difficult time, but also throughout any future pregnancies.”
The Rainbow service at the trust was launched last October after members of the maternity team worked alongside parents to understand the unique challenges bereaved parents experience.
