A CARE provider for those with dementia and additional needs continues to receive high praise from the care quality commission, after securing an outstanding rating in its latest report.

The registered manager of Bluebird Care Bracknell, Wokingham and Reading and Maidenhead was seen as 'dedicated', a particular highlight when the Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out their visit in December 2018.

Tushar Shah and Mehul Shah, Directors of Bluebird Care, said: “Achieving ‘Outstanding’ is a fantastic recognition for any care team, but to maintain that rating and take this across all of our services is a reflection of the dedication of our carers, office staff, leadership team and the support and co-operation we get from all of our customers and their families."

Bluebird Care received an 'Outstanding' rating in all two areas of the latest inspection, including is the facility a responsive service and is the service well-led.

The care providers were rated good in the other three areas, for it being a safe service, effective and caring.

However, inspectors noted that even though areas for improvement were minimal, 'staffing levels were

sufficient to support people safely and where there were any short falls, these were covered internally.

Despite this, staff were praised for being responsive to individuals needs and 'made a significant contribution to peoples' wellbeing.

The CQC report also shows how the staff went the extra mile to combat loneliness, by offering a free one hour call on Valentine's Day and they went out to spend time with people by talking or playing games.

The report said: "The provider and registered manager were excellent role models for their staff and provided inspirational leadership, characterised by innovation and a culture focused on delivering high quality care.

Tushar added: “Whilst we have developed and improved the service considerably since our last inspection, we still have much to do. However, having a passionate and hardworking team that all strive to deliver quality of care for our customers makes that journey a little easier. Before we commence on the next phase of development, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all that have helped achieve a great CQC inspection and pause to celebrate momentarily this accolade."
