A FIRE has broken out at a Halfords store in Reading.

Firefighters are currently at the scene of the fire, which was reported at 10.24am on Friday, April 5 at the Brunel Retail Park.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) crews from Whitley Wood, Caversham Road, Dee Road, Bracknell, Wokingham and Slough were sent to the scene, alongside crews from Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service and six officers.

An aerial ladder platform and the incident command unit were also sent to the scene.

A spokesman from the RBFRS said: "Firefighters found a fire on the first floor of a warehouse, which was extinguished using three main jets and two hose reels, before crews ventilated the property.

"Three crews currently remain on scene damping down at the scene of the fire.

"A fire investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire."
